Edward Emberley (Born: October 19, 1931)
Edward Randolph Emberley is a local painter, illustrator + author of 80+ books, best known for his illustrated children’s books. His delightful illustrations are brightly colored, humorous + fun. Ed attended Mass College of Art + the Rhode Island School of Design. He has received numerous notable awards for his artwork, including the Caldecott Honor Book Award. Not only has his wife Barbara worked together on some of his books, but his two children, Rebecca + Michael, have also been collaborators on some of his illustrated book projects. Hewas born in Malden MA, but now resides in Ipswich Massachusetts with his family, where he also enjoys running, sailing + skiing.
