Herbert Loring Jackson (Born October 20, 1908 + Died September 6, 1978)
Herbert Jackson was the son of former slaves from Georgia + was elected the first African American City Councillor-at-Large of Malden from 1965 to 1975. He had served previously as a State House Representative in the 20th century, serving from 1950 to 1954, serving as a public servant for 30 years. His daughter remembers her father as someone who loved to surround himself with people. “Dad was always a people person.
