Malden Arts Mondays: Gallery of Project Artwork submitted to Us
I have read so many Perry Mason books. Malden is so honored to have Erle Stanley Gardner as one of its resident. Dale street and 24 Bowers Avenue must be so proud to havd Gardner as the resident. Perry Mason books are a global rage. We all are blessed to have such rich heritage - Gurleen A

I enjoyed brightly colored art works of Frank P Stella. Specially the geometrical Mural at the corner of Holden st and Centre st. Malden. MA Was fascinated by works of Constance Stella, Franks mom - Gurleen Anand
My twin sister, Joan and I were born on September 24, 1950 at Malden Hospital. Dr. Stella and Momma, Gertrude, delivered us with Joan being born 5 minutes after me! My Momma said we were record weight at or near 14 lbs. My Pop, Norman, was a Malden Firefighter and we lived upper Highland Avenue and spent our wonderful childhood mostly at Amerige Park! We attended Glenwood School, Beebe and MHS - Jean M
Frank Stella’s artwork inspired me to use bright colors and geometric shapes to create a piece of art. However, I used my own creativity to turn these shapes into a portrait of the famous rapper Travis Scott. Researching Frank Stella helped me step out of my own art boundaries by using colors I would never use especially for a portrait - Lillyana M
This project gave me a chance to learn more about Ed Emberley and to study what his childhood home looks like - Oren S

I love Erle Stanley Gardner's titles for his Perry Mason mysteries. I can't stop making mock-ups of book covers. First of all, I had to make the typist a male to update "The Case of the Terrified Typist." What a pathetic image "The Case of the Lame Canary" conjures, but I am imagining by the end of the updated version the canary trades the crutch for a shiny new prosthetic device. "The Case of the Fiery Fingers" brought the thought of the difficulty of tracing the fingerprints that fiery fingers would make. Stop, I told myself although I could go on with these marvelous titles. Thank you, Malden Arts, for celebrating this hometown literary giant - Sharon S
This week brought back memories of the ribbon-cutting of the Spirit in the Sky mural in October, 2019. What a community celebration! Our spirits truly soared. My take-away was my folding chair that Norman Greenbaum sat in briefly at the event. I glued the photos and the story on the underside of the seat for posterity! - Sharon S
The mural based on his song " Spirit of the sky" designed by Jesse Melason. The lyrics of the song sound so true during these challenging times. I enjoyed the entire reading about Norman Greenbaun. His jewish upbringing and his diverse and respectful views in his song. This is the need of the hour. The basic respect and kindness for all - Gurleen A
